Getting started

5

Learnd AI is an AI-powered learning platform. You upload your own materials — documents, recordings, videos, web pages — and Learnd AI turns them into study tools: flashcards, quizzes, summaries, mind maps, mock exams, lesson plans, and more. An AI tutor answers questions grounded in your specific sources.

From your dashboard, click the + button or select a template. Give your module a name, then add your sources — upload a file, paste a URL, or add a YouTube link. Once your sources are processed (usually under a minute), you can start chatting with the AI tutor or generating study tools.

A module is a workspace that groups your sources together. Think of it as a project or a topic. Everything you generate — flashcards, quizzes, notes — lives inside a module. You can create as many modules as you need: one per subject, exam, or project.

You can try the AI tutor and some features without signing in. To save modules, generate content, and track your progress you'll need a free account. Creating one takes under a minute.

Yes. Learnd AI is free during beta, with access to the AI tutor, all core generators, and module sharing. Reasonable fair-use and safety limits apply. Free and Pro plans are planned for after beta — see the pricing page.

Sources & uploads

6

Learnd AI supports PDFs, Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx), EPUB, plain text (.txt), audio recordings (MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, AAC), YouTube video links, and web page URLs.

Most text documents process in under 30 seconds. Longer audio recordings and videos may take 1–3 minutes depending on length. You'll see a progress indicator and a notification when processing is complete.

The maximum file size per upload is 50 MB. For audio files, this covers recordings up to approximately 3–4 hours. If your file is larger, try splitting it into sections or compressing the audio before uploading.

Yes. A module can hold as many sources as you need. The AI tutor searches across all of them and always cites the specific source, page, or timestamp that its answer comes from.

Yes. Paste the YouTube URL into the source URL field. Learnd AI fetches the transcript, indexes it, and makes it searchable. The video itself is not downloaded — only the transcript is stored.

Yes. Your files are encrypted in transit and at rest. They are never shared with other users or used to train AI models. Only you (and anyone you explicitly share a module with) can access them.

AI Tutor

4

The AI Tutor is a chat interface that answers questions based on the sources in your module. Every answer includes a citation — a reference to the specific document, page number, or audio timestamp where the information comes from. It does not search the internet or use knowledge beyond your sources.

The AI Tutor is grounded in your uploaded sources and will tell you when it can't find relevant information in your module. For best results, make sure you've uploaded all the material relevant to your question.

Open a module and click the Chat or AI Tutor button. Type your question and press Enter. You can ask follow-up questions — the tutor remembers the full context of your conversation.

After each answer, the tutor shows which source it drew from. For documents, it cites the page number; for audio recordings, a timestamp. Clicking the citation takes you to the relevant section of your source.

Generators

7

Learnd AI has 30 generators organised into six modes — Quick Study (quiz, flashcards, mind map, summary, glossary, concept explainer, comparison table, revision notes, cheat sheet, fill-in-the-blanks, question bank, report), Lesson Resources (slide deck, infographic, lesson plan, worksheet, discussion prompts, learning objectives, rubric), Test Yourself (mock exam, case study, model answer, practice problems), Check My Work (essay feedback, answer evaluation), Where Am I (knowledge gap analysis, progress report, topic predictor), and Plan Ahead (study plan, exam strategy guide).

Open a module, select the Generate tab, choose a generator, configure the options (number of questions, length, style, etc.), and click Generate. Most generators complete in 10–30 seconds and the result is saved inside your module.

Yes. Every generated item can be regenerated with new settings. You can also edit the output directly — useful for correcting a detail or customising the content before sharing or printing.

A Quiz (Quick Study) is a short, focused set of questions — good for checking understanding of a topic. A Mock Exam (Test Yourself) is a full timed exam paper with sections, marks, and an optional marking scheme — designed to simulate real exam conditions.

The Lesson Resources mode has seven generators for educators: lesson plans (with objectives, activities, and timing), worksheets (with optional answer key), rubrics (criteria-and-levels grids), slide decks, infographics, discussion prompts, and learning objectives — all built from your uploaded course material.

Yes. Use the Check My Work mode. Essay Feedback reviews writing for structure, argument, and style. Answer Evaluation marks your answers question by question with scores and guidance. Paste your text into the source field and optionally add model answers for more precise marking.

Yes. Cheat sheets, mock exams, lesson plans, worksheets, rubrics, slide decks, infographics, model answers, case studies, and exam strategy guides all have a Print button that opens a print-ready view.

Exams & progress

4

Open a module and select Exam. You take a timed mock exam from your generated content. When you finish, Learnd AI grades your answers, breaks down your score by topic, and shows you what to study next.

Each question is tagged to a topic from your source material. Your score per topic is weighted across attempts — more recent attempts count more — giving you a trending mastery view rather than just a single snapshot.

After reviewing your results, Learnd AI recommends specific actions for the topics where you are weakest. Weak topics get a quiz recommendation. Topics you partially know get a flashcard review. You can launch either with one click.

Learnd AI assigns each topic one of four labels: Strong, Developing, Needs work, or Weak. Labels are based on your weighted score across all attempts.

Sharing modules

4

Open the module, click the Share button, and copy the generated link. Anyone with the link can open the module in a browser — no account required to view.

No. Students can open a shared module link without creating an account. They can chat with the AI tutor and view generated content. To save their own modules and track progress, they'd need a free account.

Yes. Open the module settings and disable the share link. The link stops working immediately. Your sources and generated content are unaffected.

No. Shared modules are read-only for recipients. Only you, as the module owner, can add sources, generate content, or delete items.
