Close the source and attempt to explain, answer, draw or solve. The goal is to find out what you can produce without help.

Check

Compare your response with the lecture, note, source citation or model answer. Correct missing or inaccurate parts.

Revisit

Return to the knowledge after a delay. Spaced repetition gives the topic repeated opportunities to become accessible again.

Connect

Link the idea to an example, a previous topic, a diagram, a case or a wider framework. Connected knowledge is easier to find than an isolated sentence.

Apply

Use the knowledge to answer a new question, make a decision, solve a problem or build an argument. Application tests whether the idea can travel beyond the original page.

A simple review pattern

  1. After the first learning session, write or say the main points without looking.
